I do almost exclusively "environmental portraiture", often called "location portraiture". Simply put, I typically photograph in your space - your home, a favorite location or a place you & I find interesting and complementary to what you want from the portrait.
Familiar spaces are more comfortable - creating a 'context' for the picture - a feeling about what's important to you - a sense of who you are in an manner that's authentic.
